Music, especially COUNTRY music, is what Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cohle is all about!
Fresh off her successful, packed-house EP release show and radio tour, her title track “Let’s Get Gone” has been released to Canadian Country radio across Canada. “Sunday Shoes”, Alessia’s debut single, obtained significant airplay and was particularly well received in Quebec.
Building on the broad radio play she is receiving for Sunday Shoes, she is already working on her first full length CD, scheduled for release in early 2016. Sweet and sassy, familiar yet unpredictable, Alessia’s music is as entertaining as it is empowering.
The Mississauga, Ontario native’s life in music began at a very early age when she began playing piano and singing at age four. Her passion for country music began after attending her first concert – Shania Twain’s, ‘Come On Over Tour’ – at age 8.
This experience ignited a spark, inspiring her to follow a career in music. Soon Alessia began performing at local fairs and festivals, as well as on stage with her singer grandfather, and her bass-playing father.
Alessia’s musical journey continued with songwriting trips to Nashville where she honed her craft and deepened her love of country music. Country is her main focus but like most artists, she loves all styles of music, whether it is listening to Elvis Presley, Motown, Sara Bareilles or the Zac Brown Band – they all have helped define Alessia’s unique musical style.
Alessia’s desire to become an accomplished musician led her to the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree, Honors Specialization in Music Education (Voice).
She was then accepted to the inaugural class at the prestigious Berklee College of Music – Valencia Campus in Spain, where she received a Master of Music in Contemporary Performance, “working with 74 incredibly passionate students from 24 different countries was a non-stop source of inspiration”.
Among her highlights there, Alessia had the opportunity to perform alongside five-time Grammy award winner Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck and The Flecktones, Chick Corea), and “the most widely used session bass player of our time” Abraham Laboriel Sr.
Alessia Cohle is poised to contribute to the future of country music with the release of her debut EP, “Let’s Get Gone”. According to Alessia, “it’s a collection of songs that reflect my personality, allowing me to entirely expose my heart and soul.
The lyrics in each song express a different message ranging from love, heartache, self- discovery and self-worth. These songs, both lyrically and melodically, have given me the opportunity to grow as a person and an artist.” Other stand out tracks on the EP include “Here Comes the Summer”, “Chain It Up”, “Heart of Gold”, and “My Exception” – which were co-written by Alessia.
Get ready to GET GONE with Alessia Cohle. This talented young woman is a force to be reckoned with and surely will leave you wanting more!
